This is Team 7407 the C.A.K.E. B.A.T.T.E.R.S. hear to talk to you about water and how it is used in watering your yard and plants outside. We have seen in our neighborhoods. We have learned through looking in books, and online that you need to water so the water reaches between 6 and 10 inches below the ground surface. This will help the plants to have a better root system thus requiring less water over all.
We have come up with a special device that will help the home owner know when you should water your plants and for how long. This device is called the "Sprinklerator" and it has a special sensor which is used to determine the ground's moisture level. If the ground is dry then the indicator will say you need to water; If the ground is wet then the indicator will say you do not need to water. Depending on the application it will either set a light indicator or turn on the sprinkler or keep the sprinkler from running.
