Girl Scouts - Everywhere!!!

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Girl Scout Cadettes are Girl Scouts who are in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades (around ages 11–14).[6][1][3] GS Cadettes earn Interest Projects or work on Focus booklets, and wear khaki sashes or vests, their pins and white shirts with khaki bottoms as uniforms, Their membership stars have white disks. GS Cadettes may use the Cadette Girl Scout Handbook , while Interest Projects(IP) requirements are found in the book Interest Projects for Girls 11-17 or online. New IPs have been designed by older girls and any IP can be completed using the new LEARN, SHARE, DO model. Besides IPs, GS Cadettes may work on Program Aide, the Leadership Award, the Career Award, and the Challenge; typically Girl Scouts at this level are encouraged to assume leadership roles within Girl Scouts, such as assisting in leading and coordinating service unit or association events. Girl Scout Cadettes are eligible to earn the Silver Award, which is the highest award available to girls at this level.

This year's FLL Project is "Animal Allies" and Team 7407 C.A.K.E. B.A.T.T.E.R.S. picked the Zebra as their animal as this is a favorite animal of one of the team members. As we consulted our resident expert we found that the zebra population is shrinking in Africa. Further investigation we found out that the Africa Ranchers livestock and the zebra are wanting to inhabit the same land and unfortunately the zebra is loosing the battle. So our quest was to find a use for the zebra.

Scout Levelcc: Cadette

Just recently girls from Troop 1703 and Troop 2111 finished project at the Country Acres Children's Home. These projects made a difference in the lives of the children who live at this facility as it is the only one in Brevard County. One of the projects was call "It's in the Bag" and the other project was creating a beautiful environment around the extended living facility. The project "It's in the bag" provided the facility with 100 gym style bags filled with a special blanket, memory book, markers and a lock for the children to hold their treasured possession so they are kept safe.
