Just recently girls from Troop 1703 and Troop 2111 finished project at the Country Acres Children's Home. These projects made a difference in the lives of the children who live at this facility as it is the only one in Brevard County. One of the projects was call "It's in the Bag" and the other project was creating a beautiful environment around the extended living facility. The project "It's in the bag" provided the facility with 100 gym style bags filled with a special blanket, memory book, markers and a lock for the children to hold their treasured possession so they are kept safe. The project is to show these kids that they matter and their things do not belong in a trash bag for keeping. When the girls delivered the project, they took time to show the children how to either embroider or use fabric markers to mark their blanket and gym bags. We are very proud of all the hard work the girls accomplished when working their projects. At the end of the project the girls worked with Boy Scouts from 4 Corners to hold a Flag Retirement Ceremony for the tattered flag that was in front of the Children's Center. This was a wonderful ceremony showing how both Boy Scouts and Girl Scout can work together.
